Informing the Future of Higher Education is not only the name of this first community report from the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO), it is also our ambition and the purpose behind the more than 126 research studies we have conducted or commissioned since we became operational in 2007 as an arm’s-length agency of the Government of Ontario. As part of its mandate, HEQCO evaluates the postsecondary sector and provides policy recommendations to the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities to enhance the access, quality and accountability of Ontario higher education. We also inform the public about our evidence-based research, and among the questions our research explores are those asked in this report by Ontarians just like you -- people who have their own ambitions, dreams and goals.
The evidence is clear: postsecondary education can inform their future.
