Toronto – With the addition of its newest research director and three research analysts, the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario has significantly enhanced its research capacity.
Officially assuming the position of research director on December 3, Fiona Deller brings to the Council ten years of experience from across the postsecondary education sector. She has held positions with the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations, Human Resources and Social Development Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, and most recently with the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada.
Reporting to Vice President of Research Ken Norrie, Ms. Deller will work alongside the Council’s two other research directors, Andrew Boggs and Ursula McCloy. Mr. Boggs and Ms. McCloy joined the Council in summer 2007 from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and Colleges Ontario respectively.
The Council also welcomes three research analysts, Graeme Stewart, Nasrin Fatima and Shuping Liu. Prior to joining the Council, Mr. Stewart was a research policy analyst with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, and Ms. Fatima was a research consultant with Canchem Dealings Limited. At present, Ms. Liu is a Ph.D. student of economics at Queen’s University.
“This high calibre team has the right combination of skills, expertise and broad experience in postsecondary education to support the success of the full range of research projects planned by the Council,” said Dr. Norrie.
