On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, HEQCO will host a talk by Dr. Roger Benjamin, president of the Council for Aid to Education (CAE), from 10:30 am to noon at Ryerson University’s Oakham House. A light lunch will be provided afterwards. Established in 1952, CAE is an American non-profit organization based in New York City that conducts policy research on higher education and promotes the corporate support of education. Dr. Benjamin is the principal investigator and project co-director of CAE’s Collegiate Learning Assessment project — considered by some to be the gold standard for the assessment of critical thinking skills in postsecondary students. It has been used extensively in research projects evaluating the development of thinking skills in college and university students.
