Toronto, October 14, 2008 – The Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO) is pleased to announce the release of its 2007-08 Annual Report. The report, released today on HEQCO’s website, details the Council’s staff, infrastructure and research growth. It also contains audited financial statements for the 2007-08 fiscal year.

“The Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario has embarked upon an ambitious research program with the goal of strengthening higher education in Ontario,” said James Downey, president and CEO of the Council. “This report illustrates our efforts to ensure we have access to the appropriate tools and expertise to fulfill our mandate.”

The Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario is an arm’s-length agency of the Government of Ontario dedicated to ensuring the continued improvement of the postsecondary education system in Ontario.  The Council was created through the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario Act, 2005.
