Prior to joining HEQCO, Laura worked as a research assistant at Justice Canada – Research and Statistics Division, where she worked on a project focused on virtual testimony in Canadian child advocacy centres. In addition to her Canadian justice system research, Laura is interested in Ontario postsecondary student access, student supports and graduate pathways. Laura recently completed a master’s degree in research for policy and evaluation at Western University. Here, she engaged in education-focused projects, including a research proposal about digital inequality among K-12 students in London, Ontario and a group project about Western students’ feelings of loneliness and social integration on campus. Through her graduate studies and work experiences, Laura developed skills in research design, quantitative and qualitative methods, program evaluation and knowledge mobilization. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in anthropology, also from Western.
